Using a piece of writing can be an amazing way to commence a time of meditation. It is especially good for those who have a poem, scripture or any writing that speaks deeply to their heart. This technique should take about 20 minutes as it is done slowly and intentionally to reveal deep words and emotions of wisdom to your spirit.
Choose a short passage.
Read it once out loud at a normal pace.
Leave a few minutes silence, then read it again very slowly, listening to the Spirit for movement or emotion attached to any particular word or phrase
Listen for the deep yearnings of your heart and stay with that feeling for a time.
At the right time, ask the question "Is there anything else I should know?"
Read it again very, very slowing, taking a breath (either in or out) between each word and listening to the Spirit for movement or emotion attached to any particular word or phrase
Give thanks for any revelation that has come to you
It is a great inspiration to keep a journal and write down any insights that come to you, so that you can put into words what emerged for you and so that you can refer back to this time, if you need to.
Enjoy the proces
